PUBLISHERS' NOTE

The Sixth and Seventh Volumes of the Sri Aurobindo International Centre of Education Collection series include almost all the letters of Sri Aurobindo to his disciples and others, published in Letters of Sri Aurobindo, First, Second and Fourth Series, Lights on Yoga, Bases of Yoga, The Riddle of This World and More Lights on Yoga; many published in the Annual Numbers of Sri Aurobindo Circle and Sri Aurobindo Mandir ; and some published in The Advent and Mother India. In addition to these, it also includes a very large number of letters which have not been published so far. The classification and arrangement of all these letters in various parts and sections has been done according to a plan which has seemed most suitable for the clear understanding of the readers.

In view of the great bulk of the letters included in these Volumes it has become necessary to divide it into two Tomes: Parts One and Two are placed in Tome One and Part Three in Tome Two.

The First Edition of these Volumes was brought out under the title: On Yoga II (The Synthesis of Yoga being On Yoga I). This Second Edition has a new sub-title—Letters on Yoga—added to the main title. It has been also revised and considerably enlarged by the inclusion of a very large number of additional letters.
